NFT launch for luxury jewellery Zephyne: a strategic roadmap
When founder Pan Sermsuk approached us, she had a Web 3.0 vision yet no idea where to start. We provided Zephyne with confidence, a clear road map. We demystified technical aspects and worked within their practical business reality.
Pan dreamed of a ‘secret society’ for her customers, where each jewellery purchase would come with an NFT replica, acting as a membership card plus its digital certificate of authenticity. Her questions: Where to begin? How to implement? What does build look like? Cost? How to distribute and manage?
We worked hand-in-hand to deliver a full execution plan, complete with stages (Year 1, 2, etc.) where each build stage was future-proofed for the next stage. Every business operates within practical realities of budget and events/developments, so our plan worked neatly with whatever Zephyne’s capacity was for that time. This further ensures the project grows authentically with feedback and use by their customers.

Vision Statements
In The Dread Penny Society by Sarah M. Eden, secret society members carry a unique coin to enter meetings. Inspired by this, Zephyne wanted a special club for those holding their jewellery. Pan compiled her Vision Statements, including: “I want an authentication method allowing only members to events/meetings.”"I want a ‘museum of stories’ where legacies of each jewellery are passed on - an ongoing narrative connecting former owners to future keepers.”
A Web 3.0 Vision; A Bite-Sized Launch
Initially, we compared Web 2.0 vs 3.0 solutions to the Vision Statements. Pan decided that Web 3.0 altogether presented stronger conceptual integrity. Each jewellery purchase would receive an NFT replica, acting both as a certificate of authenticity and membership card to online/IRL community.
We agreed on a ‘bite-sized’ Stage 1 launch. Benefits include manageability, financial feasibility, and agility in light of business developments, customer feedback, etc. We’d be happy to stage developments into future years, such as DAO, resell/exchange platform, recycling scheme, etc.
NFT Design
Our first stage demystified the NFT from design to distribution. We presented an easy-to-understand guide and a proposed NFT specification. Zephyne collaborated on a final specification including blockchain, token type, minting, access control, immutability, transferability, metadata and more. We ensured the NFT was future-proof for next stages such as DAO, reselling/exchange, recycling etc.
Customer Journey
Onboarding had to be smooth for customers who aren’t tech-savvy. Customers claim their NFT then use a platform to view/manage. We presented options based on existing and/or custom solutions, providing pros/cons and cost estimates. Strategically, we chose to capitalise on the practicality of an existing platform with scope to future upgrade to custom-coded.
Plan of Action
Launch plan in hand, we provided strategy and cost estimates to execute. Further, we recommended a database to track NFT activity, sales, and customer data. Zephyne were confident re next steps. They were well-positioned for developments in their business and their Web 3.0 Vision.
